The annual rate of inflation as measured by the Retail Price Index last month went down to 0.41 per cent, from 0.53 per cent in March.

The National Statistics Office said the monthly inflation rate registered in April was 0.56 per cent, down from 0.66 per cent the previous month.

The main upward impactwas mainly due to higher prices of cigarettes,
restaurant services and costlier products related to house maintenance.

The main downward impacts were due to price reductions in the prices of fuel, garments and gas.
