Works are underway to fix the collapsed balcony.
Work to rebuild the collapsed balcony of Balluta restaurant Barracuda has begun under the supervision of court-appointed experts.
Eight people were injured when the balcony collapsed last week while patrons were having dinner at the seaside restaurant.
The balcony was a platform supported by two stone columns, with their bases on the rocks below. The platform fell on to another balcony below belonging to the Piccolo Padre restaurant.
A magisterial inquiry into the incident is underway, and restaurant owners have said they are also conducting their own separate inquiry to establish what caused the balcony to give way.
