The prime minister’s British media consultant, Leslie Skipper, formed part of the Maltese delegation to the Eurovision Song Contest, it emerged this evening.

Mr Skipper was listed among the delegation members by Justice Minister Owen Bonnici in reply to a question by Nationalist MP Clyde Puli.

He formed part of the PR and Marketing team with Daniel D’Anastasi, David Debono and Luke Fisher.

The other delegation members were PBS chairman Tonio Portughere, CEO Anton Attard, who was head of delegation, Doreen Cortis, assistant head of delegation, Gordon Bonello – producer.

Stage team – Ira Losco, Anna Abela, Pamela Bezzina, Skorpion, Molly Pettersson Hammar (resident in Stockholm) and Lars Safsud (resident in Stockholm).

Stage styling - Stephane Boko, Alex Zabotto, Diane Nikolic and Marielle Calleja;

TV production - Mark Vassallo, Jeremy Dalli and Charles Ahar.

Asked about spending for Malta's participation in the contest for the past 10 years, Dr Bonnici said PBS operates in a commercial manner and such information is of a commercial nature. 

He said revenue from advertising and sponsorship rose by 120 per cent this year and PBS could follow its policy of self-financing.
