Milito: Former Inter striker Diego Milito, currently at Argentine outfit Racing Club, will retire from football today. The 36-year-old has spent the last three seasons with Racing Club. He will hang up his boots at the end of the game against Temperley. Milito said: “I don’t know how I’ll react in the moment. You’re never prepared to leave what you love, but I’ve spent the last six months thinking about this.”

Barca kit: Barcelona have agreed an extension to their kit-manufacturing deal with Nike which Spanish media reported was the most lucrative arrangement of its kind in the world. The Spanish champions issued a statement saying details of the contract will be specified at their next general assembly. Barcelona-based daily newspapers Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo reported that the deal could be worth €155m a season and would run until 2026.

Kokeza: Former Red Star Belgrade vice-president Slavisa Kokeza was named the new Serbian Football Association (FSS) chief, replacing the body’s long-serving president Tomislav Karadzic. “Kokeza was the only candidate and was voted into the post unanimously as all 77 present delegates supported his bid,” the FSS said. Karadzic, 77, stepped down following an eight-year spell in charge.

Russian champs: CSKA Mos-cow beat Rubin Kazan 1-0 yesterday to win the Russian Premier League title for the sixth time. Alan Dzagoev scored the only goal of the game after 19 minutes and CSKA finished two points clear of Rostov, who defeated Terek Grozny 2-0. It was CSKA’s third league title under head coach Leonid Slutskiy who also led the team to victory in 2013 and 2014.

Allagui: Hertha Berlin have extended the contract of forward Sami Allagui by a year, despite the Tunisian missing the whole of last season due to injury. The 29-year-old damaged his knee cartilage in a summer friendly against Rayo Vallecano and he has not yet returned since an operation in September 2015. His previous performances for the club have nevertheless convinced them to offer him a new one-year deal, with his previous contract expiring this summer.
