The Cittadella in Gozo has been given a real facelift.

The cathedral square has seen a total change with new lighting, new facades and a multitude of other things with beautiful results, may I add. Now that all is practically completed, the whole square is being closed in with some kind of a door when the new lit-up cathedral could be enjoyed from a distance.

Why go through all that trouble and expense and then cover it all up behind a door? Besides, is this door going to be opened and closed continuously for different functions?

These include weddings, funerals and processions, not to mention the multitude of tourists having to use the old and quite restricted archway.

These decisions are being made by people who do not frequent the Cittadella every day like most of us and so are not aware of our needs and neither do they have this beautiful place close to their heart.
