BirdLife’s nature reserves are open this and next weekend before they close for summer.

There will be special family activities at both Simar in St Paul’s Bay and Għadira on the last weekend.

Although all activities, including a 90-minute guided tour and nature activities for children, will be free, booking is necessary due to limited space.

The activities will be held at Għadira on May 28 and at Simar on May 29 between 10am and 4pm.

The activity timings are 10am, 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm.

One can book by sending an email to events@birdlifemalta.org. Emails should include name and contact number, session time, number of people in the group, number of children and their age.

The reserves will be open for all, not just for those who book events.

Birdlife said the open days will give one an opportunity to see baby birds with little chicks. The reserves include moorhens, little ringed plovers and black-winged stilts.
