I would like to draw the attention of the Church’s Safeguarding Commission in their task to safeguard the innocent and vulnerable.
It has become common practice to involve children from seven years, even younger, to participate in local soap operas.
In this way, they are being confronted rather early with all the modern evils of drug taking, marriage mix-ups and other embarrassing obstacles to a proper and respectable life.
Children should be allowed to live and grow naturally in a sound and happy atmosphere in the family. On that score, I may also add that teachers in primary classes tell you that, at that age, pupils are being allowed by their parents to watch these soap operas, which are not always wholesome and edifying.
We must protect our children at all cost.
