The newly-appointed ambassadors of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Burkina Faso presented their credentials to President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca today. 

Jordanian Ambassador Awwad Khaled Alserhan was previously Jordan's Ambassador to Tunisia, as well as the head of Jordan's representation office in Ramallah (West Bank). He is a career diplomat, having working within Jordan's Foreign Affairs ministry since 1987. He holds degrees from the University of Karachi in Pakistan.

UAE Ambassador Salem Issa Ali Alkhattam AlZaabi served as his country's non-resident Ambassador to Cambodia and Laos at the turn of the century. He was subsequently made Ambassador to Syria, and became Ambassador to Tunisia in 2013. He will keep that post along with his ambassadorship to Malta.

Burkina Faso Ambassador Abraham Traore was a professional soldier before entering the diplomatic ranks. His academic background is in aeronautics. He served several high-ranking military posts, including Air Force Chief of Staff between 2009 and 2011. He was made Ambassador to Libya in December 2013. 

Željana Zovko presented her credentials as Bosnia and Herzegovina's new ambassador. Among other posts, last year she served as advisor within the Cabinet of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as Ambassador to Italy.
