On a recent flight, there was a drunk, rowdy group in rows 26 and 27 and we were all in for a dreadful journey. They were noisy while boarding but things got worse once they found their seats and consumed duty-free vodka before we even took off.

There was constant shouting and swearing for four hours and the cabin crew was practically invisible other than to serve passengers. Only one crew member shushed them up once and the noise began again the moment he turned his back and he only acted when a lady in my row complained.

The plane shouldn’t have taken off because the passengers in question were far from settling down. They were even served alcohol. Three ladies directly behind me purchased five bottles of wine and a can of beer along with Maltesers, which they were throwing around.

I had asked them to behave but to no avail and even had comments directed at me alongside constant pushing and pulling of my seat for the remainder of my flight.

I am so disappointed that no action was taken before, after or during the journey.

Are cabin crew members simply glorified waiters and waitresses? Do they have no authority during a flight and simply hide to avoid confrontation?

I was disgusted that all passengers were disturbed throughout the whole flight and nobody would act.

I have flown Air Malta for 12 years and have never experienced such disappointment. I choose the airline as I expect higher standards when compared to a budget carrier. Strangely enough, it was the crew of a Ryanair flight that acted upon a misbehaving stag party a few weeks before.
