Working out while communiting on buses may soon become the next in thing as an English fitness company looks set to introduce exercise buses.

Fitness company 1Rebel UK announced their new service, which will allow commuters to use stationary bikes while on the bus.

The service, called “Ride 2 Rebel”, has gathered significant interest, although the plan is yet to be officially approved. Missing helmets and safety belts have raised safety concerns, 1Rebel co-founder James Balfour told CNBC.

"We are working with bus companies and the government to establish all health and safety conditions," he said.

Fitness bus won't come cheap to customers. Riders can expect to pay between €15 to €18 for a 45 minute ride.

If approved, the exercise bus is expected to premiere in the summer.
