Mbokani: Norwich City striker Dieumerci Mbokani has been dropped from the Democratic Republic of Congo’s squad for three matches. Mbokani missed the last two African Nations Cup qualifiers for the country after being caught up in the Brussels airport bombing on March 22. He was due to fly to Kinshasa for the first of the two matches against Angola but after the trauma of being just outside the airport departure hall when the explosions went off, he decided to stay home.

Fulham: Fulham will be free to sign players during the summer after the club announced their transfer embargo has been lifted by the Football League. In December, the Championship club had seen the sanctions imposed after exceeding Financial Fair Play limits of permitted maximum losses of £6m for a season. Fulham, who were relegated from the Premier League in 2014, finished 20th in the Championship.

Bevington: Adrian Bevington has left his advisory position with Aston Villa, the club have announced. Former FA executive Bevington joined the club to review and evaluate the managerial position and playing staff at Villa Park in March. He follows David Bernstein and Lord Mervyn King after the pair quit the relegated side last month and stating their new football board had found it impossible to implement a new structure.

Guilavogui: Wolfsburg have completed the signing of French midfielder Josuha Guilavogui from Atletico Madrid after he impressed during a two-year loan deal. The 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Wolves after the Bundesliga club agreed to pay the Spanish side a sum stipulated in the original loan agreement to make the move permanent. “I’m really happy that I am going to remain part of this great club,” said Guilavogui, who has made 57 appearances and scored three goals for the Wolves.

Altidore: United States striker Jozy Altidore is likely to miss the centenary Copa America in June after being ruled out of action for 6-8 weeks with a hamstring injury, his club side Toronto said. The 26-year-old suffered the injury while taking a penalty during a Major League Soccer game on Saturday. Altidore has a history of hamstring problems. In 2014 he suffered a hamstring pull in the first match of the World Cup and missed the rest of the tournament.

Stuttgart: Stuttgart have named Jos Luhukay as their new coach while parting company with their director of sport Robin Dutt following their relegation to the 2. Bundesliga. Luhukay, who has previously guided Borussia M’gladbach, Augsburg and Hertha Berlin to promotion from the second division, replaces Jurgen Kramny, who was demoted back to his previous role of reserve-team coach on Sunday.
