I read the report on the chained and abused dog (April 29). Over the 21 years I have lived here, I noticed the total lack of concern for animal welfare.

Animal Rights Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes should do what he’s paid for and have a close lookat the obviously cruel law that allows dogs to be chained throughout the whole day, provided the chain is three metres long. Perhaps he would like to sit down even for a short while with a chain around his neck to feel what its like.

So far, he has done nothing to improve the treatment of animals in Malta.

Never mind, the next election is not all that distant and the public will have the chance to shout at the ballot box, unless, of course, the rules are changed to suit somebody, as seems to be the norm these days.
