The National Centre for Freedom from Addictions is launching a study which explores the status of drug-driving policies across the EU, with particular reference to a few member states including Belgium, Norway, the UK and France.

The study draws comparisons between approaches to counter drug-driving in these countries, and the situation on a National level. The analysis focuses on four main areas of the policymaking and policy-implementation processes: scientific evidence; policies and legislation; enforcement; and sanctioning. A set of 10 recommendations, specifically related to these four areas, will be presented for consideration by Maltese authorities and stakeholders.

The study is being presented at the Palace in Valletta on Thursday from 1.30 to 4.30pm
