The Malta Film Commission said this morning that it was making its presence felt at Cannes, one of the most important festivals and film markets in the world.

Over the course of the festival, a delegation is taking part in more than 40 meetings during which producers will explore the possibility of filming in Malta.

Film Commissioner Engelbert Grech will also be addressing a European conference focusing on the challenges faced by small nations.

The Film Commission said it was making a case for more support to Maltese film makers from Creative Europe, the EU’s main film programme.

Apart from Cannes, Malta has this year taken part in major film markets in Berlin, Hong Kong and Los Angeles.
