CLEWS. On May 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, Major STANLEY J.A. CLEWS, widower of Vera Grima, aged 93, passed away peacefully after a short illness, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He was surrounded to the last minute by his children, in-laws and grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Lauren and her husband Narcy Calamatta, his son Michael and his wife Antoinette, his grandchildren Paula, Matthew, Michael Jnr and Sarah and their respective spouses, his great-grandchildren Alex, Julian, Kay and Paul, his sisters-in-law Mona Aquilina and Sunie Preziosi, his brother-in-law Jojo and his wife Maryan Grima, all nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

FENECH. On May 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, SILVIO of Doljo Garage, aged 56, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Miriam, his daughter Lara, her husband Matthew, and grandson Peter, his son Andrew and girlfriend Sarah, his mother and his sister, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, May 13 for Iklin parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May he rest in peace.

SALIBA. On May 8, in Suffolk, England, JULIA, née Dobinson, passed away peacefully at the age of 91, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Evarist, her daughters Anita and Chiara and their husbands William Farrant and Matthew Saunders, her grandchildren Jack, Sophie, Lucy, Tom, Sam, Katie and Nicholas, nephews, nieces and in-laws in Malta, England and Gibraltar. May she rest in peace.

Requiem Mass

Mass for the repose of the soul of ANTOINE CACHIA CARUANA, on the first anniversary of his demise, shall be celebrated tomorrow at 7pm at Casa Leone XIII chapel, Sacred Heart Avenue, St Julian’s. The attendance of family and friends will be appreciated.
