A farmhouse dating back to the 18th century was inaugurated last Sunday as the new headquarters of the Xagħra Scout Group.

The building was renovated over the past four years at a cost of about €90,000, which was met by donations and services in kind by volunteers, helpers, supporters, benefactors, the local council and Gozo Ministry. The headquarters was inaugurated last Sunday with a parade by Xagħra and Attard scout groups to the village basilica, where Mass was concelebrated by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech. An Open Day is being held at the headquarters today from 8.30am to 12.30pm.

Xagħra Scout Group, which was reactivated in 2008, currently has 100 members.
