The following are the top stories in national newspapers today.

Times of Malta leads with the Planning Authority’s unanimous rejection of an application for the rehabilitation of a quarry and the building of a retirement home in Wied Għomor, San Ġwann. In another story it says a court expert snubbed by the Court of Appeal received about €500,000 in fees over the past six years.

In-Nazzjon says a number of police officers are to be appointed Majors on Monday.

The Malta Independent says only one of 24 complaints assessed by the Church’s Safeguarding Commission between February and December 2015 was substantiated.

L-Orizzont says action is to start being taken on the Auditor General’s reports.
