Scuffles broke out between lawmakers from Turkey's ruling AK Party and the pro-Kurdish opposition party (HDP) during a constitutional commission meeting in parliament over lawmakers' immunity yesterday.

The meeting, which had been postponed from Thursday  due to fighting, was held to discuss a proposal to lift lawmakers immunity from prosecution.

Lawmakers shoved, punched and threw water bottles at each other during a heated discussion, others jumped over tables to join the fight.

The Chairman of the Commission and AK Party Deputy, Mustafa Sentop, called for a short break to allow lawmakers to calm down before resuming the session.

Last week a brawl between the AK Party and HDP lawmakers delayed efforts to pass legislation on a migration deal with the EU.
