BUGEJA. On May 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, THERESA of Balzan, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband France, her children Colin and Rosanne, her brothers and sisters and their families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, St Julian’s, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at St Nicholas Cemetery, Qrendi. CASSAR. On April 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEL, widower of Rita, née Pace, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Frances and her husband Denis Camilleri, Josephine and her husband Albert Farrugia, Anna and Mariella, his grandsons Nigel and his wife Debbie, Ian and his wife Anna, David and Adrian, his great-granddaughters Kate, Neena, Sophie, Luisa and Carla, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for St Rita chapel, Lourdes Lane, Swieqi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. DEGAETANO. On May 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, DOROTHY, née Cost Chretien, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Marianne and her husband Frederick, Angela and her husband Joseph, Andrew and his wife Josianne, Caroline and her husband Mark, David and his wife Bernadette, and Paul and his wife Josienne, her dearest 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, her sister Miriam Schembri, her brothers Joe and his wife Fay, Henry and his wife Ginnie, and Fred and his wife Marianne, besides many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GANADO. On May 2, at his home, JOE passed away peacefully, aged 90, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Angela, his son Max and his wife Veronica, his daughter Johanna and David Tonna, his grandchildren Elizabeth and her husband Adrian Camilleri, Sarah and her husband Christopher Zammit, Stephanie and her fiancé Nikolai Lubrano, Ann and her husband Reginald Meli Attard and Sandra and Richard Ferro. Also his five great-grandchildren Daniel, Giulia, Ana, Luke and Ben, his sisters Marie-Louise Firman, Yvonne and her husband Loris Bianchi and Grace Grech Orr, his in-laws Ann and Carmel Apap Bologna, Carol Harvey and Nicholas Cassar Torreggiani, his many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends and his carers Marie Borg, Aaron Nuesca and all support nurses. The funeral leaves the chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Lija, on Thursday, May 5 at 8.45am for Lija parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Crèche, Sliema, will be greatly appreciated. GOUDER. On May 3, at St Vincent de Paul residence, DORIS of Birżebbuġa, widow of Carmelo, aged 84, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmen and her husband Alex Azzopardi, Joe and his wife Miriam, Rose and her husband Joe Vella, Mario and his wife Caroline, Connie and her husband Roger Mangion, and Bronia and her husband Mark Anthony Farrugia, her sister-in-law Carmela, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence on Thursday, May 5 at 2pm for Birżebbuġa parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SERRACINO. Suddenly, on May 2, at his home, ERIC of Santa Luċija and residing at St Paul’s Bay. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Mireille and his dearest son Paul, his parents Charles and Carmen, his brother Karl and his wife Roberta, his parents-in-law Lino and Lydia Vella, his nephews and nieces, other close relatives and friends.

SPITERI. On April 30, JOAN, née Salomone, widow of Brigadier John Spiteri. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Angela and her husband David Marinelli, her son Simon, grandchildren Steven, Helen and Alexandra, her great-grandsons Patrick and Thomas, her sister Barbara Bonavia and her sister-in-law Doris Doublet. Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 8.45am at St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema. The family would like to thank the staff at St Vincent de Paul JP3 for their care and dedication. May she finally rest in peace and love.
