In reply to Claudia Cuschieri, communications coordinator at the Ministry for the Family and Social Solidarity, who was polite enough to answer my post regarding service pensions. I would like to thank her for correcting my terminology. The €200 per annum is indeed a “waiving off” amount against my service pension but she should consider this.

I am now 67 years old. If, for example, I received a service pension of €500 a month from the UK government at a rate of €200 per annum (waiving off), it would take 30 years for me to receive the pension that I have worked for all those years in the Royal Air Force. Even then, 30 years’ worth of pension depreciating by €200 per annum would still have been ‘stolen’.

Does anybody suggest I wait until I am 97 or does somebody wish we all expire, thus curing their embarrassing problem? Yes, I do believe they would like to hurt us pensioners, otherwise they would take action to end this travesty of justice soonest and not give us promises of €200per annum in the future to salve their consciences.
