Over 600 athletes took part in the 41st edition of the Teamsport Gozo Half Marathon last Sunday. Foreign participants came from 32 countries, including other EU member states, the US, Australia, South America and Asia.

Steve Chetcuti won the marathon in a time of one hour, 17 minutes and 47 seconds, followed by French national Benoit Thuaire (1:18:36) and Matthew Cutajar (1:18:37).

The first woman to cross the finish line at 1:27:32 was Josann Attard Pulis, who broke a Maltese record at this year’s edition of the Malta Marathon.

Apart from the half marathon the event included an eight-mile race and four- and two-kilometre fun runs.

The organising committee forms part of Xagħra Youth Centre.
