The price of a regular 12 kg gas cylinder will be 50c cheaper from tomorrow and will sell at €14.50, the Office of the Prime Minister announced.

In a statement, the OPM said consumers will be paying the cheapest price recorded over the last five years and will remain stable over the coming months.

It added, that the government worked hard over the past three years to ensure price stability and avoid monthly changes in prices as the previous administration used to do.

This, the government said, also ensured better planning for families and businesses.

The energy sector now falls under the responsibility of the Office of the Prime Minister after Minister Konrad Mizzi was stripped of the portfolio last Thursday.
