A man and a woman were hospitalised this evening following a traffic accident in Triq Sant' Anna, Floriana. 

The police said the accident happened when the driver, a 32-year-old man from Luqa, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree.

His passenger, a 29-year-old woman from Floriana was grievously injured.

The man's condition is not yet known.

The accident happened at around 6.45pm.
