Yesterday’s cabinet reshuffle was today compared to George Orwell’s Animal Farm by the head of the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin who said “some animals were more equal to others”.

Speaking during a Worker’s Day conference, executive head Josef Vella said ministers were not better than other citizens and each member of Cabinet was a Maltese citizen equal to all others.

“We will respect you if you treat us well and do not turn us into slaves,” Mr Vella said adding that it would have been better had the reshuffle not taken place as who was involved in the Panama scandal was kept in Cabinet.

“This is not a solution but a crisis,” he said adding that the word resignation had lost its significance and started to mean time out.

“We feel like a voice in the desert, we are unable to take anymore,” he added.
