A rushed Prime Minister today insisted that his chief of staff Keith Schembri is held to account.

Dr Muscat yesterday announced that no action will be taken against Mr Schembri after he opened up a secret company in Panama sheltered by a trust in New Zealand.

The Prime Minister justified his lack of action against Mr Schembri on the basis that he is not an elected official.

Asked about his lack of action today, Dr Muscat said he was in a rush and had already answered questions about Mr Schembri.

Questioned if unelected officials should be held to account, Dr Muscat simply said, “Keith Schembri is held to account”.
