The Air Malta/Alitalia deal is the main topic in national newspapers today.

Times of Malta says the Italian airline will buy just under half of Air Malta, heralding a turnaround for the Maltese carrier. In another story, it says the planning authority will today be reconsidering a revocation of a permit issued to the son-in-law of a government consultant for development on agricultural land in Siġġiewi.

The Malta Independent says the Speaker confirmed he had no authority to investigate MPs’ declaration of assets.

L-Orizzont says that Nemea Bank, of which former Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was director, had been put into administration.

In-Nazzjon says Lawrence Cutajar was appointed acting police commissioner following the resignation of Michael Cassar.
