Balzan midfielder Paul Fenech and Frank Temile, the Birkirkara winger, will play no part in their teams’ final league game tomorrow after being handed a one-match ban yesterday.

Fenech and Temile collected their fourth yellow card in last weekend’s games which saw Birkirkara, 2-1 winners over Hibernians on Sunday, leapfrog Balzan into third place after the latter went down 2-1 to Valletta a day earlier.

Birkirkara, on 46 points, lead Balzan by three points before their direct encounter tomorrow evening.

Relegation strugglers Naxxar Lions will be without Daren Falzon and Ryan Grech for their do-or-die clash with Sliema Wanderers.

Falzon was hit with a two-match ban following his sending-off in the 3-1 loss to St Andrew’s while Grech was suspended for one game for four yellow cards.

Sliema Wanderers will also be missing two players after Mark Scerri and Stefano Bianciardi were banned for four bookings.

Pembroke Athleta, who wrap up their league campaign with a game against Mosta this evening, have lost winger Siraj Arab, sanctioned for four cautions.

Brazilian duo Joao Pedro and Alex Alves will not feature in Tarxien Rainbows’ final game of the season, against Floriana tomorrow, after both collected their fourth booking in the 4-0 victory over Pembroke Athleta last weekend.
