Six employees at a home for prisoners who qualify to take part in a social reintegration programme have completed training.

Their training by psychological experts was organised by the Rise Foundation. It was based on aspects which could facilitate the development of community-based programmes for men.

These include analytical methods on how to motivate and help residents face challenges and bolster their personality strengths.

The prisoners were also trained in helping residents in their personal development.

Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said this mission, which would be carried out at Dar Sister Maria Adele Baldacchino, was being taken very seriously.

This was the first home of its kind which offered a community care plan for prisoners who were not drug victims.

The minister praised the work of NGOs, saying that one was responsible for the administration of the home.
