I refer to the letter by Claudia Cuschieri from the Ministry for the Family and Social Solidarity (April 22).

May I remind this lady and readers that we service pensioners are still being robbed of the service pensions that we are entitled to, up to this very day since 1979. The word abatement that she and others use is merely a euphemism for theft.

The annual €200 “additional waiving-off”, as she calls it, is merely a small reduction of the amount of pension entitlement that we are systematically being robbed by the State every year.

What we want is what we are entitled to in our old age: our full service pension, not simply part of it. And, yes, the government is still hurting us pensioners by stealing from us.

One wonders what she would say if her own pension were to be reduced when the time comes for her to retire.
