Banned: Nice fans have been banned from travelling to the Ligue 1 game at Nantes due to fears of potential trouble between rival supporters. The order prohibits followers of fourth-placed Nice from being in or around the Stade de la Beaujoire before, during or after Saturday’s game. A statement issued by the authority cites “attempted clashes” which required “significant police resources to prevent” when the clubs met in the corresponding fixture last season as justification for the decision.

Wendell: Bayer Leverkusen will be without defender Wendell as they battle to secure a Champions League spot in the final three games of the season after the Brazilian picked up an ankle injury in training yesterday. The club said Wendell tore a ligament in his left ankle and would undergo surgery today. The talented 22-year-old left back had played in 28 of their 31 league matches this season as Leverkusen climbed to third in the table.

Hasenhuttl: Ingolstadt coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has turned down the club’s offer of a new contract, increasing the chances of him leaving the club this summer. Thomas Linke, director of sport of the Bavarian club, confirmed that Hasenhuttl had rejected an offer to extend his contract while admitting that another club has made an approach for him. That club is reported to be RB Leipzig, who are on course for promotion to the top flight.

Martinez: Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez has extended his contract with the club until 2021. The 24-year-old has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season for the Basque outfit, who are 11th in the Primera Division. Martinez, whose contract was due to expire in 2017, has picked up one cap for Spain and the club confirmed his renewal on their official website.

Vardy: Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy will miss the Premier League leaders’ visit to Manchester United on Sunday after being banned for an additional game for improper conduct. Vardy angrily confronted referee Jon Moss after picking up a second yellow card for diving during Leicester’s 2-2 draw against West Ham on April 17. The 29-year-old, who was also fined £10,000, will be available for the final two matches of the season against Everton and Chelsea.
