The letter ‘Buses’ sudden braking’ by Josephine Abdilla, (The Sunday Times of Malta, April 17), highlights the potential risk of falls among elderly public transport users.

Eyesight problems, decreased mobility and poor balance do not help these vulnerable people and the consequences of a fall for an elderly person can be disastrous, to say the least.

Transport Malta should highlight this risk to their drivers during their induction training.
