The Malta Feline Guardians Club is holding the 58th and 59th International Cat Shows this weekend.

Two separate shows are being held at Smart City and both are open to the public.

One cat will be crowned general best tomorrow while another will be crowned on Sunday. Both cats will then compete against each other for the Super General Best title.

During the shows, the club will be hosting a very experienced and well-renowned photographer from Italy, Alessandro Di Pinto, who specialises in these kind of events. It will also be welcoming volunteers from the cat sanctuary CSAF (Carers for Stray and Abandoned Felines), which will be setting up a stand selling merchandise and collecting donations for the care of homeless felines.

Applications from exhibitors are to be sent by e-mail to info@maltacatshows.com or via the club’s Facebook page Malta Cat Shows. Participating cats must have a registered pedigree with the club, along with other valid documents.

Various rare cat breeds and household pets will be on exhibition and in competition.

There will be face painting for children while donations will be collected for cat sanctuaries.

Entrance is free.
