A woman who yesterday assaulted police offers after getting into an argument with a man at a Żejtun bar was today give a one year jail term suspended for two years. She was also fined €800.

Ritianne Cutajar, 35, from Żejtun pleaded guilty to all charges brought against her before Magistrate Antonio Vella.

Ms Cutajar was accused of slightly injuring two police officers, disobeying orders, resisting arrest, and assaulting three men from Żejtun. She was also charged with reviling three officers and a doctor at the Paola health centre and being drunk.

Senior police inspector Johann Fenech prosecuted while lawyers Dean Hili and Joseph Gatt were defence counsel.
