Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, in partnership with the Malta Tourism Authority, is currently hosting renowned Canadian artist Tom Forrestall as part of its first-ever artist-in-residence programme.

Mr Forrestall, who many international art critics consider to be one of the ‘pillars of Canadian art’, has worked on a collection of watercolour paintings featuring the Maltese islands. He has painted at numerous sites including on the Dingli Cliffs, at the Blue Grotto and in Valletta, and has produced a collection of watercolour paintings entitled 18 Days on Malta: A Closer Look at 7,000 Years of History in Words and Paint.

Mr Forrestall’s collection, along with writings and photos of their sketching outings on Malta and Gozo by his journalist daughter Monica Forrestall, will be exhibited at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa on Saturday.

That same day he will also be holding two public salons, at noon and 5pm, where he looks forward to meeting local art enthusiasts and members of the artistic community.

Mr Forrestall’s paintings will also be for sale tomorrow, and half of the proceeds from the sales will be donated back by Forrestall to Din l-Art Ħelwa.

Locally the collection is being curated by the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa’s curator-in-residence Ray Piscopo.

• Both salons are free of charge, however booking is recommended by calling 2144 0301 or by sending an e-mail to marisa.xuereb@corinthia.com.
