A campaign aimed at promoting health and safety at the workplace will reward workers who promote active ageing and the integration of older workers in the workplace.

The ‘Healthy Workplaces for All Ages’ campaign, which was launched by Social Dialogue Minister Helena Dalli this morning, will seek to raise awareness about maintaining sustainable health and safety measures. Both younger younger workers and older workers will be targeted.

“The main aim of the initiative is to educate and create a change in mentality. We want employers to value older workers and consider them an asset because of their experiences,” Dr Dalli said.

A competition for companies interested in organising activities to help promote the initiative further was also launched by Occupational Health and Safety Authority CEO Mark Gauci, with prizes to be presented in April 2017.
