I want to join those expressing their wish to see Pawlu Mizzi honoured during his lifetime for his sterling pioneering efforts to elevate the Maltese book and Melitensia literature to a deserved higher standard.

It would be poignant to erect a monument in his memory after his death. How much more meaningful to honour him during his lifetime. He has elevated Maltese writing and literature to a level never achieved before his time.

It has taken a Gozitan scholar to teach us Maltese to respect and love our language and heritage as never before. Gozo was less colonised than our Malta, so its identity is less mixed and more authentic.
