Director Rod Daniel, who was behind the camera in comedies such as Michael J Fox’s Teen Wolf, has died at his home in Chicago.

Daniel, 73, began his Hollywood career in television, where he produced and directed several episodes of the CBS sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati. He went on to direct episodes of several television series, including Newhart, Caroline in the City, Everybody Loves Raymond and Magnum, PI.

In addition to Teen Wolf, he directed The Super, Beethoven’s 2nd and Home Alone 4. He retired from film-making in 2003.

He leaves a wife and two sons.
