Jade Flask, the Hibernians striker, had good reason to celebrate lately after helping her team to become champions for the third successive time and 12th in their history before being crowned player of the month for March.
Flask, 19, joined the Paolites last summer following a stint in the Swedish league with Ange IF. She is currently on the Fgura United books but opted to play on loan for Hibernians after her return from Scandinavia.
Earlier this month, Hibernians beat Birkirkara 2-0 to open an unassailable lead at the top of the standings following goals by Shona Zammit and Ylenia Carabott.
Flask has been an inspiration to Hibernians this season, particularly in March where the side collected the points required to keep second-placed Birkirkara at a distance.
She also played for the national team in the Aphrodite Cup, contributing to a 2-0 win over Estonia and a 1-1 draw against tournament winners Israel.
Marica Ellul, BOV manager at the Paola branch, presented the Player of the Month trophy to Flask. BOV has been supporting the local football leagues for the last 11 seasons.
Meanwhile, the Gozo FC girls confirmed their status as top team in the Second Division this season after making sure of first place and promotion with an 8-0 rout of Ħamrun Spartans.
