It is a pity that our beloved Malta is being led by a government which is the most corrupt since Independence, as described recently by Emmy Bezzina.

Malta has an important minister – Konrad Mizzi – in Joseph Muscat’s Labour administration with two portfolios – health and energy. This serene and happy minister (as described), is being accused of grave misfunctions. The same goes for the Prime Minister’s chief of staff Keith Schembri. Meanwhile, Justice Minister Owen Bonnici and Parliamentary Secretary Deborah Schembri are saying that “there is no problem”. It’s business as usual.

They have been and are supporting Mizzi while other ministers of experience, and now also former Labour Party leader Alfred Sant, all feel that the Prime Minister should take drastic action immediately.

However, during this political crisis and uneasiness in the country, the Prime Minister, presumably also serene and happy, flew off to Lebanon to sell passports. According to all, the Prime Minister is not acting according to the oath of allegiance he took when he was elected to govern in March 2013.

The Maltese of goodwill are fed up. They want to live in peace and prosperity as they did during the past years when they were led by prime ministers Eddie Fenech Adami and Lawrence Gonzi whose honesty and integrity were never questioned and/or tarnished.

These people of goodwill are imploring President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca to intervene on behalf of the nation. As the guardian of the Constitution, the Maltese feel that her intervention is essential before Malta’s image and reputation in Europe and elsewhere is looked down upon. The people are saying that we have had enough talk from all concerned.

It’s time for facts and actions if we all want our country to continue on the road to prosperity.
