I fully agree with Alfred Conti Borda (‘Public transport problems’, The Sunday Times of Malta, April 10), about the danger of sudden breaking by route buses, especially for standing passengers.

It was because of such a sudden breaking that I was knocked down on the floor of Bus no. 47 coming from Santa Venera to Birkirkara four months ago and suffered an injury to my leg.

After having an operation I am still in great pain, I limp when I walk and I use a walking stick.

Since that accident I have not boarded a public bus again as I am still scared of doing so.
