A life-size bronze statue of San Ġorġ Preca is to be placed in a niche in the facade of St James Church at Independence Square, Victoria, on May 6. The statue, created by Manwel Farrugia from Victoria, was cast at Domus Dei foundry in Rome, and is currently touring the parishes of Gozo. Fr Eddie Zammit, from the project committee, said the Gozo diocese wanted to commemorate the Maltese saint who founded the MUSEUM, which has Catholic doctrine teaching centres all over the Maltese islands.
