Recruitment specialist Vacancy Centre has appointed John Dimech as its new general manager.

Mr Dimech joined CSB Group’s recruitment agency last January after having spent over 30 years in the hospitality/tourism industry and five years in recruitment. He has an excellent track record in management and always strived to exceed targets.

After gaining experience in the tour operating and hospitality industries he joined a leading English language school and together with other stakeholders played an important role in the setting up of a national regulating body for the sector when he was president of the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations Malta and a board member of the Malta Tourism Authority.

Mr Dimech is responsible mainly for the general management of the recruitment business and managing a team of recruiters and support staff, as well as helping candidates in their next career move.

He said: “In recruitment, as in most other businesses, it is all about relationships. The success of a recruiter depends very much on the strength of the relationships with candidates and clients. Vacancy Centre’s vision is to strengthen its relationships while putting an emphasis on its areas of specialisation, namely financial, legal and compliance, iGaming and IT services.”

The group’s CEO Michael Zammit said he was delighted to welcome John to the team and looked forward to working with him to drive the company’s recruitment business forward.
