Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau might know more about quantum theory than you may think. Just ask a group of reporters who got schooled by the prime minister during a news conference at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics Waterloo, Ontario on Friday.

"A regular computer bit is either a one or a zero: on or off. A quantum state can be much more complex than that, because as we know, things can be both particle and wave at the same time, and the uncertainty about quantum states allows us to encode more information into a much smaller computer," Trudeau said.

He had been questioned on this knowledge of quantum theory by a reporter during a press conference where he pledged a $50 million budget for physics at the Waterloo think tank.
