Chad Patus (Floriana Café del Mar), Steve Sammut (Mellieħa Mr Green) and Steffi de Martino (Caffe Moak Luxol) are the BOV Player of the Month award winners for March 2016, the Malta Basketball Association announced.

This is the second time this season that Floriana’s foreign import Patus had claimed the individual award and his fourth overall in the top-flight of the Maltese basketball.

The Canadian potted 99 points in three matches with 24 from 29 (83 per cent) from the free-throw line and 59 per cent from the field (24 from 41). He was the top three-point shooter with nine from 18 tries from outside the arch.

Patus was also the top rebounder in the First Division with 16.13 per game and also suffered the most fouls – 8.67 per game (26 fouls suffered in three games).

De Martino also won the award for the second time this season and sixth overall. The Luxol player averaged 13.66 points per game (41 points in three matches).

In March, Sammut had 99 points in five matches for an average of 18.6 per game played. The Mellieħa player scored 16 three-pointers, the second highest in the Second Division during March.
