Replying to a question by Labour MP Anthony Agius Decelis, he said the works revealed part of the old surface of St Paul’s Street, a coin from the time of Alof De Wignacourt (Grand Master between 1601 and 1622) and pottery also from the time of the Order of St John in Malta.

The items are being held by the Superintendence of Cultural heritage.

Nine of the 15 grain silos in the area were also revealed.
