Goldberg Trio, made up of Michael Laus, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra resident conductor on piano, Marcelline Agius, the orchestra leader on violin, and Nadia Debono, on viola, are tomorrow giving a recital at the Mediterranean Conference Centre at 6pm.

The evening starts with a collection of pieces originally written for this combination, and will be followed by a brilliant collection of dances arranged by Laus, including Fritz Kreisler’s pieces dedicated to the joys and sorrows of love, the Liebesfreud and Liebesleid.

The programme also includes the Grand Tango by Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla, whose name is synonymous with tango. A collection of Brahms’s evergreen Hungarian Dances will round off this evening.
