A young woman was seriously injured this morning when a Ford Transit and a BMW car collided on Hal Far Road. The accident happened at about 5.45am.

The woman, a 24-year-old from Zurrieq, was a passenger in the van.

The drivers of the van and the car were not hurt. 

Motorists were urged to avoid the road until the debris is cleared.
