For these past weeks the ‘state-of -the-art’ signs installed by Transport Malta have been signalling to motorists to avoid Birkirkara Bypass due to works in progress.   The roadworks in question only lasted one day; yet for weeks we are being advised to choose an alternative route.

In my opinion carelessness like this only encourages people to ignore these signs and make fun of the system even though it is still at its early introductory stage.

Instead of using the funds for these things, TM would have made us a bigger favour if some of the main roads were resurfaced afresh, as we can widely boast that we have some of the worst roads in Europe.

Maybe it will be a good idea for roads to undergo an RRT (Roads Roadworthiness Test).
