• A car boot sale in aid of the Arka Foundation is taking place today from 7am onwards at Marsalforn’s main car park. Sellers are not required to book but pay a €10 donation per car.

• The annual Fiera ta’ l-Għadira will be held at the Għadira ta’ San Raflu, Ta’ Kerċem, today from noon onwards. It will include games and activities for all the family with the chance to win prizes, food and drink stalls, plants for sale, a childrens’ games area, and face painting. A clay pigeon target shooting competition and a horse show will also be held. Parking areas are available for free. • Risen (12A) will be screened at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 2.30, 5.30 and 8pm.

• Rothwell Temperance Band, a Championship Section brass band from Rothwell, near Leeds, will give a concert today at 6pm at the Cittadel Cultural Centre, Victoria.

• Austrian duo Incantare will perform a concert today at 8pm at the Gozo Ministry hall, Victoria, as part of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music. The festival will continue this week with a daily concert and four educational events.

• The feast of the Annunciation will be celebrated tomorrow at the chapel in Lunzjata Valley, Victoria, with Masses at 6am, 8, 9, 9.30, 10.30, and 11.30am, and 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7pm. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a concelebrated Mass at 5.30pm.

• The friar minors of St Anthony church, Għajnsielem, will hold a bible study tomorrow at 7.20pm at their centre. Everyone is welcome.

• Lichfield Cathedral Choir will give a concert on Wednesday at 7.15pm at Għajnsielem parish church.

• This year’s edition of Fun Games for Youths at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Victoria, will be held on Friday. Teams must have at least six participants to take part. For details and booking call 9948 7751.

• Il-Ħniena għadha Moda? (Is mercy still relevant?) is the title of a meeting to be held by the Catholic Action Movement on Friday from 5 to 6.30pm at the Gozo Ministry Hall, Victoria. The meeting, which will be conducted in Maltese, will discuss practical ways of showing mercy.

• A public lecture entitled ‘New light on ancient Gozo from fresh fieldwork’ by Prof. Caroline Malone and Dr Simon Stoddart will be held on Friday at 6.30pm at St Cecilia Chapel, l/o Għajnsielem, by Wirt Għawdex. • A public lecture in Maltese by Mario Coleiro entitled Il-Festa Maltija: Ir-ritwali li jiddistingwuha will be held on Friday at 7pm at the Education, Science and Culture Centre at Lunzjata Valley, Victoria.

• A charity car wash will be held at St Augustine’s Square, Victoria, next Saturday from 8.30am onwards.

• A film-forum at Don Bosco Oratory Theatre will be held next Saturday during which the oscar-winning film Spotlight will be shown at 7.30pm. This will be followed by a discussion in Maltese including Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, psychiatrist Anton Grech and educator Joe Psaila. Journalist Mark Laurence Zammit will chair the forum. Everyone aged 15 or over is welcome to attend.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Move­ment will hold a prayer eve­ning at Nadur parish church on Saturday at 8.30pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• A St George’s Day buffet luncheon will be held by Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria next Sunday at 1pm at Hotel Calypso, Marsalforn. Tickets at €25 per person may be made at Il-Ħaġar Museum (tel 2155 7504).
