Slices of a large Easter figolla prepared by David Bakery of Gozo were distributed to shoppers at Arkadia Shopping Complex, Victoria, on Holy Saturday in exchange for donations in aid of Puttinu Cares. By the time the last slice was served, more than €3,300 had been collected. This was the third consecutive year that this activity has been held by the Gozo Puttinu Cares committee in collaboration with the management of the bakery and shopping centre with the help of volunteers. The figolla, measuring 1m by 2.2m, was made using 80kgs of pastry, 180kg of almonds, and 45kg of cocolate. It weighed about 305kg.
